Finally, a side-by-side comparison between the Nvidia GeForce GTX 485M and the ATI Radeon HD 6970M, with the same processor (an Intel Core i7 2920XM), courtesy of Tom’s Hardware.

They only test 4 games: Crysis (of course), F1 2010, Just Cause 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, but as both cards are tested in the same laptop (a Clevo P150HM assembled by MALIBAL), the comparison is very interesting. On average, the GTX 485M is less than a 5% faster than the 6970M, giving a familiar outcome: Nvidia’s flagship is the fastest card, but the ATI option comes very close in performance and gives you the best bang for the buck (it should cost at least 200 USD less than the GTX 485M).
